#ChaitraNavratri, also known as #VasantNavratri, is devoted to Goddess #Durga. It usually falls in March or April and marks the first day of the Hindu calendar. The festival is associated to the prominent battle that took place between Durga and the demon Mahishasura to celebrate the victory of good over evil. These nine days are solely dedicated to Durga and her nine avatars. Each day is associated to an incarnation of the goddess:
Day 1 – Shailaputri
Day 2 – Brahmacharini
Day 3 – Chandraghanta
Day 4 – Kushmanda
Day 5 – Skandamata
Day 6 – Katyayani
Day 7 – Kaalaratri
Day 8 – Mahagauri
Day 9 – Siddhidatri
