Shiitakes are wood-decay fungi, meaning they grow on logs. Growing shiitake mushrooms takes place either on logs or in bags of nutrient-enriched Fill one Kg wet substrate (65% moisture) to Polypropylene bags, plug with non-absorbent cotton. Sterilize the substrate (121°C, 15 lb pressure for 90-120 minutes in autoclave) Cool the bags to room temperature.
