Was Suryaputra Karna stronger than Arjuna?

When he went to Guru Dronacharya for his education, he did not teach him because he was not a Kshatriya. He admitted that he is a bright and intelligent child but refused to teach. Here his good deeds got him recognized, but bad deeds gave him reproach.

Karna must have done very good deeds that he became a disciple of Parashurama! And the disciple too, an obedient and always ready to learn. No one knows if it was the result of bad deeds in one of his previous births or of many lives.
