You must know about that very ancient stone present in the city of Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu, which has been surprisingly stable for about 1200 years on a slope. It neither shakes nor rolls even in the worst of storms. A similar stone is also in Myanmar, which is about 25 feet high. This huge stone situated at an altitude of about 1100 meters is no less than a wonder. It is a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists in Myanmar. This stone which looks like gold is called 'Golden Rock' or 'Kyaktio Pagoda'. Actually, people have made it look like gold by pasting gold leaves on it. For this reason it was named 'Golden Rock'.
It is believed that only a woman can move or move this stone from here. Because of this women are not allowed to touch this golden stone, they can only see it from a distance. To ensure that no woman comes near the stone, the gate leading inside the shrine is manned by security personnel and kept watch at all times.
