Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is a 2012 American adventure film directed by Brad Peyton. The film is a sequel to the 2008 film Journey to the Center of the Earth and is based on the novel The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne.
The story follows a young adventurer named Sean Anderson (played by Josh Hutcherson) who receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island that shouldn't exist. With the help of his stepfather Hank Parsons (played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) and a helicopter pilot named Gabato (played by Luis Guzman), they set out to find the island.
