About:

Pamban Bridge is a railway bridge that connects the town of Rameswaram in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, to mainland India. The bridge is located across the Palk Strait and is the first sea bridge in India. This 2.3 kilometer long bridge was built in 1914 and is the longest bridge in India to have spans that open to let ships pass underneath.

The Pamban Bridge is also known as the Annai Indira Gandhi Bridge because it was renamed in honor of the former prime minister of India. The bridge has been featured in numerous films, documentaries, and travel shows due to its impressive engineering and breathtaking views of the ocean.

The bridge is a major engineering feat and is considered a symbol of national pride. It has also played an important role in transporting goods and people to and from the southernmost point of India. Today, the bridge serves as a major tourist attraction and an important transportation hub for the region.
