Patta Gobhi ki Sabzi, or Cabbage Stir Fry, is a simple and flavorful Indian dish. Here's a basic recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 small cabbage, shredded
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to your spice preference)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
- Add minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Add chopped green chilies and tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes are soft and mushy.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute.
- Add shredded cabbage to the pan. Stir to combine with the spice mixture.
- Cook the cabbage uncovered for about 7-10 minutes or until it's tender, stirring occasionally.
- Once the cabbage is cooked, garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with roti or rice.
